Dodge Rear Differential — Confirm Ratio and Configuration
The Dodge Charger and Challenger rear axle differential carrier is available in multiple gear ratio configurations — 2.62 (base RWD), 3.06, 3.09, 3.27, 3.55, and 3.92 (performance trims). Gear ratio must match the opposite axle exactly on AWD applications, and the correct ratio must be confirmed for the correct speedometer calibration on RWD applications. ⚠️ LX Platform Differential — RWD vs. AWD Are Different Units
The Charger and 300 were produced in both RWD and AWD (all-wheel drive via automatic torque distribution). The rear differential carrier is completely different between these configurations — the AWD unit is smaller and integrates differently with the rear driveshaft.
