VIN and chassis code fitment confirmed before dispatch.

MINI owners search by chassis code more than almost any other brand — R50, R53, F55, F56 are the reference points that determine compatibility far more precisely than year alone. Our listings include the chassis code in the product title wherever possible so you can confirm fitment at a glance. New OEM MINI parts carry a significant BMW Group premium; used OEM components from low-mileage donor vehicles deliver the same factory fit and finish at 50–65% less.

Notes on Specific Parts

R50/R53 Electric Power Steering Pump

The first-generation MINI Cooper used an electric power steering pump motor rather than a hydraulic system — one of the earliest mainstream applications of EPS on a mass-market vehicle. The pump unit (2002–2008) is a known failure point and used OEM replacements are significantly more cost-effective than new. The EPS pump motor is the same unit across R50 and R53 — Cooper and Cooper S — so either donor vehicle provides a direct-fit replacement.

R50 Throttle Body (Non-Supercharged Only)

The throttle body assembly for the R50 Cooper (non-supercharged) is a different unit from the R53 Cooper S supercharged application — they use different intake configurations. Our listing is specifically for the non-supercharged R50 variant. Always confirm your trim before ordering — the supercharged R53 throttle body is a different part number and assembly.

R50/R53 Rear Subframe Crossmember

The rear subframe crossmember for the first-generation MINI hatchback (OEM part number 33316764170) fits both R50 and R53 chassis. This structural component is often needed after rear collision damage and is significantly less expensive as a used OEM unit than new dealer pricing.

F55/F56 Front Subframe

The front subframe for the second-generation MINI hatchback is shared between the F55 5-door and F56 3-door variants (2014–2019). Always confirm your production year — the F55/F56 received a mid-cycle refresh in 2018 that updated some suspension mounting points.

⚠️ Always Order by Chassis Code, Not Year Alone MINI model years do not reliably identify the chassis generation — the transition from R-series to F-series chassis within the "MINI Cooper" nameplate involves completely different platforms with no parts interchangeability on structural or drivetrain components. Always identify your chassis code (found on the door jamb VIN sticker or via VIN decode) before ordering any structural part.
